Dev update: bulk buying, faster forging and bags that stay put

updateAlso inEnglishEspañolPortuguês (BR)

Forty seconds, sound on. Under the video is what changed, in the order it is shown, plus a few fixes that did not fit in the clip.

This round is about clicks. The shop, the forge and your bags each had a step where you did something by hand that the game could have done for you. We took the step out.

The plain answer first: the bag changes below are already on the live realm. The shop and forge changes are not. They run on our development build, and they reach the live realm with the next update.

The shop: buy as many as you want

  • Shift + right-click buys 25. Hover over anything that comes in stacks, like potions or Magic Bells, hold Shift and right-click. No prompt, no waiting. If you cannot afford 25, or your bags cannot hold them, you get as many as fit.
  • Right-click on its own asks how many. A small box opens. Type any amount and the total price follows as you type. Press Confirm to buy.
  • A big purchase is one purchase. Buying 25 used to be 25 separate trades behind the scenes. It is one now, so it is quick, and you get a single line in chat for the lot.
  • What you buy stacks. Things bought with B-Gold join your existing stack straight away. Before, a purchase could leave a second stack of the same item next to the first until you logged in again.

This works on items that come in stacks. Gear, and anything sold for more than one kind of currency, is still bought one click at a time, as before.

The forge: fewer clicks to fill the window

With the forge open, right-click anything in your bag and it goes to the slot where it belongs. That part is not new. What is new:

  • Right-click a crystal to add one. Click again to add another, up to 25. More crystals mean a better chance of success. A crystal of a different level replaces the one in the slot.
  • Shift + right-click fills the crystal slot to 25, or to however many you are carrying. In the video that takes the success chance from 37% to 85% in one click.
  • Right-click a gem to swap it in. If a gem is already in the slot, the new one replaces it. You no longer have to take the old one out first.
  • The chance on the window is the chance you get. On the Level tab, the one for rubies, the forge showed one success chance and rolled a lower one. A forge showing 92% was succeeding roughly one time in three, and the materials were gone every time it did not. If the forge ever felt rigged against you, that was why. It is fixed: the number on the window is the number that is rolled.
  • Combining and merging follow the original game. Turning six gems into the next level up, and merging four pieces of gear into one, were built from wiki guides. They now work the way the original game did.

Storage: your extra bags

A Parcel Stone opens an extra bag with 24 more slots, up to three stones, which makes four bags in all.

  • The New Bag button opens your extra bags. Press it on your bag window and a second window shows them. Drag, use and hover over items there exactly as you would in the main bag.
  • Extra bags stay put. If you logged in with extra bags open they used to shrink back to one. They do not any more.
  • A spare Parcel Stone is not wasted. A fourth stone used to be used up and do nothing. The game now says no and you keep it.

If something looks wrong

The bag fixes you can check today. The shop and forge ones you can check once that update is out: Shift + right-click something that stacks in any shop. If anything buys the wrong amount, charges the wrong price or leaves you with two stacks, open a ticket and tell us the item, the shop and what you saw.

See you on Olympus.
