Olympia is open — come and break it
After a long stretch of talking to ourselves in a test world, Olympia is
open to everybody.
Make an account, take the launcher, pick a house. There is no queue, no key,
and no charge.
What the first week looks like
Somebody will find a way to stand inside a wall. Somebody will pull nine
crocodiles and discover that nine crocodiles is a real number. A boss will do
something it was not asked to do, and we will have to go and look at it.
None of that is a disaster — it is the part of a launch you cannot simulate
with five people and a spreadsheet. What we ask is that you tell us. A ticket
with "the marsh south of Sparta, around 20:40, the shrine did not give the
buff" is worth more to us than an hour of our own testing.
Restarts get announced in-game five minutes ahead wherever we can manage it.
Where we cannot — because something is actively on fire — we will explain
afterwards here rather than quietly hoping nobody noticed.
Rates, and why there are two realms
Olympia runs gentle: 3× experience, 2.5× drops. It is the realm to pick if
you want the world to last, and it is where most people are.
Elysium runs high, for people who have done the long version before and
would rather be at the interesting part by the weekend.
Characters are separate between realms, and so is everything they own. Pick
the one that matches how much time you actually have — you can always start
the other later.
What we would like from you
Play badly. Take the class nobody is taking. Walk somewhere there is no reason
to walk. The map is enormous and most of our testing has happened in about
four per cent of it.
See you in Sparta.
