Terms of service
In one paragraph: this is a free, non-commercial, volunteer-run
revival of an online game that is no longer operated by anyone else. Playing
costs nothing. Donations pay the hosting bill and grant only cosmetic or
convenience rewards. We cannot promise the world will exist forever, and you
should not treat anything in it as property. Be decent to the other people
here and almost nothing below will ever concern you.
What this is
A preservation project run by volunteers in their own time. It is not a
company, it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the rights holders of the
original game, and it is not operated for profit. Nothing here is an official
product of anyone.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping
your password to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has it and we
will help you secure it.
Do not share, sell, buy or trade accounts. When an account changes hands we
have no way to tell a gift from a theft, and we would rather not be asked to
adjudicate it.
One person may hold as many characters as they like. There is no alt limit.
How you may behave
The server rules are the short version and they are part of these
terms. In summary: no botting or automation, no exploiting bugs you have
noticed are bugs, no harassing other players, and nothing illegal.
Staff may suspend or remove an account that breaks these. We would rather talk
first — open a ticket. If we suspend an account we will tell you why.
Donations
Donations are voluntary support for the cost of running the server. They are
not purchases of goods or of in-game property.
- Everything a donation grants is cosmetic or convenience. Nothing sold will
put a stat on your character that another player cannot earn by playing. - Rewards arrive as B-Gold in your prize chest and are delivered by the game
server, which is not always awake. A delayed reward is normal; a lost one
is a bug, and we will fix it. - Because the reward is granted in a persistent world we cannot un-grant it,
so donations are generally not refundable once fulfilled. If something went
wrong — you were charged twice, the reward never arrived, you donated to the
wrong realm — open a ticket and we will sort it out. - If you are not the person who owns the payment method, do not donate.
What we do not promise
This is the part that matters most, and we would rather be blunt than
reassuring.
The service is provided as is. There is no uptime guarantee, no guarantee
that your characters and items will survive a patch, a database fault or an
operator mistake, and no guarantee that the server will still be running next
year. Volunteers lose interest, hosting bills come due, and rights holders
occasionally take an interest in projects like this one.
If the world shuts down, characters, items and unspent rewards go with it. We
will give as much notice as we are able to.
Who owns what
The original game — its art, music, world and code — belongs to its rights
holders. We claim nothing over it and make no ownership claim on your behalf
either. The website, its own artwork and its own code are ours.
Your characters and items exist as rows in a database that we operate. They
are not property, cannot be sold for money, and do not survive the service.
Changes
We may change these terms. When we change something that actually affects
you, we will say so in the news rather than quietly editing the page.
Contact
Everything reaches us the same way: open a ticket. There is no
other support channel that we monitor.
